Tangled Roots/Lone Buffalo

Finally got to check this place out! Will be back to try more of the beers! Highly recommend!!!

Cosy atmosphere, in downtown small town. Great service, delicious beers, and attentive staff. Loved the lager, weiss, oktoberfest and wiezen. Mmm...

I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband says beer is really good. But I love atmosphere at the tap room. Everyone is friendly and just feels right. And let's talk about the food... those beef ribs with jalapeno coleslaw it's out of world. Meat is so soft and fals of the bone. And has a nice char and just right amount of bbq sauce. I am getting hungry again.

Nice tap room on main street & kid friendly. The food was very good, but the service & management was EXCEPTIONAL & the reason we will return. The manager stoped at our table while making her way through the dining room during dinner hour, she of course casually asked how everything was. When I expressed everything was great except for the fish I had ordered, sheimmediately apologized & did everything she could to make it right!! In addition she came back to our table before we left to thank us for sharing our honest thoughts & assuring us she spoke with the kitchen staff & they were immediately addressing the issue.

What a great find! Awesome brews (get a flight and try as many as you can), superb service, excellent food. We had a blast.

Really tasty food, huge unique beer selection and beautiful space. Kristin was one of the sweetest servers ever.

Beer was fantastic but the service and food were rough. System problems we understand. But 15 minutes for a beer is long. Wasn't busy. Pub chips were very good. Wings looked fantastic but they were undercooked and tasted funny. Was really excited to come here. :( The bartender did comp our beer and wings. We will be back.

Beer and food were both very good but the service was absolutely abysmal. Maybe everyone employed here was just taking the lazy Sunday theme to heart but it might be hard to find a more inefficient or unproductive staff. Ordering a beer from the bar was an almost 0:30 affair and trying to just get a waitresses at a table was even worse. If you willing to try this establishment out be sure to bring plenty of patience.

Love this place! Friendly staff and great food. It’s a nice atmosphere and they made amazing changes to the building. Makes for a nice meal overall. We have been a few times and they even gave us a free birthday dessert one time while celebrating a family members birthday. We have enjoyed all the different meals we have tried so far and look forward to returning soon.

Great beer, good food and really nice people. They do curb side pick-up too.

I've written a number of different reviews for Tangled Roots. Each time, even if there was criticism, it was always meant in the best way possible. Their beer has improved tremendously from the start. What a great evolution it's been. Today, not only their flagships and base brewing has improved. But the experimental beers have come into their own as well. Lately I find myself impressed with the balance and restraint that they use. Balancing the base of the beer and letting the specialty adjuncts shine just a bit. They also seem to be staying away from following trends that have no balance. With their beer improving so much, I believe the food now needs to be brought up a little to match. Well done Tangled Roots!

First time visiting and had a great experience. The food was really good, the service was even better! Ended up buying some beer to try at home, and it was so, so good!! I will definitely be back more often. Thank you to the staff for the awesome service and experience!

Had a wonderful time, stopped on the way home from Starved Rock. Sat at the bar, I enjoyed the beer, my wife enjoyed her wine. The food was great, but the best part was the bartender Tracy, such a knowledgeable and personal ambassador for this brewery.

Good place to go and enjoy the evening. Good service, good beer and good food. We especially like to sit outside when weather permits. We enjoy coming here. Some servers are more knowledgeable about there beer than others. So it depends on who you get as a server. BTW, they get 4 stars instead of 5 because EVERY TIME we've gone there you'll NEVER get a full glass of beer. It will ALWAYS come with large head on it so you never get a full glass.

So awesome to have such a great Brewery this close! Great beer, great food! They occasionally partner with area businesses for specialty brews. You have to try the Blueberry Scone inspired brew partnered with The Ottawa Bakery it is awesome and only available for a limited time.

Grew up in Illinois Valley jut been away a long time. Had been wanting to get back and try this place. Finally had a reason to be in Ottawa and really impressed. Great food and awesome IPA. Well done.

So glad we decided to come here after our hike at Starved Rock (about 10-15 minutes away). Great variety of beers and incredible food menu. Their Crispy Chicken Sandwich is BY FAR the best I have ever had!!! Next time I'm out in the area for a hike, I will most certainly be coming here again for a bite and drinks afterwards!

The location is awesome. The food was delicious.The staff was great ,from the hostess ,to the waitress ,to the server. All had smille and asked if there was any thing more they could do for us.

This craft beer is Fantastic smooth, tasty. Ordered a flight, asked our waitress Rhonda to assist as I tend to like Amber to Porters. Oh each one of my flight samples was better than the last. The Kupfer is a Carmel creamy smooth flavor, thank you Rhonda. We ordered the Bourbon Burger, oh what a fabulous burger!! It was a great get away date night. Thanks Lone Buffalo!!

The food here was outstanding. Spicy avocado burger was nothing short of amazing. It was cooked just as I had ordered (sometimes hard to get it medium). The other dish we ordered was the shrimp pasta and it was great. You had a good ratio of shrimp to noodles. We were able to sample multiple beers before making a decision. Tracy was our bartender and he was very helpful. We had looked at the menu prior to coming, but we both got different beers because of his recommendation!

Food was excellent. We only had the pretzel and wings, but both were delicious. Can't wait to go again!
